CORVALLIS WALDORF SCHOOL SCRIP PROGRAM

Support CWS by putting your shopping dollars to work for your school.  It’s fast, it’s easy, and it raises money for our school… at no extra cost to you.

How does the scrip program work?

 Many businesses in and around Corvallis allow CWS to purchase discounted gift cards, called “scrip,” which can then be redeemed for the full value of the gift card.  For example, CWS purchases scrip from Richey’s Market at a 10% discount, so $50 of scrip costs CWS $45.  If you then purchase the scrip from the CWS Scrip Store at the full scrip price ($50) and redeem it at Richey’s, the $5 differential stays with CWS to support school programs.  A few dollars here and a few dollars there… it all adds up!  

What businesses allow CWS to purchase this discounted scrip?

There are over 100 businesses from which we can order scrip.  For now, the CWS Scrip Store has scrip from Fred Meyer, Richey’s Market and CIBA (Corvallis Independent Business Association).  However, we will be expanding this program and would love your feedback on which businesses’ scrip you would like to have available for purchase at the CWS Scrip Store.  Refer to the attached sheet for a complete list.

What is CIBA?

 The Corvallis Downtown Business Association (CIBA) is a consortium of Corvallis businesses that promote local shopping, particularly in our wonderful downtown.  Be aware that not all CIBA members accept CIBA scrip, and an updated list can be found at www.corvallisiba.org/scrip_directory.html.  Local favorites that accept CIBA scrip include Darkside Cinema, Day Dreamer, The Toy Factory, Grass Roots Books and Music, Robnett’s Hardware, Gracewinds Music, Peak Sports, Sibling Revelry, ZIA Southwest Cuisine, and many others.   

Where is the CWS Scrip Store and when is it open?

The CWS Scrip Store will move to its new location beginning Tuesday, November 17, with hours from 8:30-9:00AM on Wednesdays and 12:15-1:00PM on Thursdays in the main hallway just before the mailboxes with a modest table set up.  Scrip will also be available in the school office during regular office hours and will expand into the School Store for extended hours.

Don’t forget about these other easy CWS fund-raising opportunities:

 When you register your member card, (from Albertson’s or Safeway), you just do your normal shopping, and use the card to check out to get all the store sale prices. The company sends CWS a percentage of all purchases from registered cards every month.

First Alternative Co-op –The Co-op is easy. Just tell them you want your owner share to go the Corvallis Waldorf School and they will apply the owner percentage to the school program. The school number is 79925, which you can give to them at the register, although they know the number, even if you forget.

 Safeway –Sign up your member number to link your member number with the CWS nonprofit number 500003987 for Safeway.
