We strive to provide the best Waldorf education we can for your children.
Sometimes children have support needs that are beyond working with in
the scope of the classroom setting. We truly want to help children reach
their fullest potential and find that some obstacles need to be overcome
or worked with to allow the child to attain their highest. We have compiled
a resource list with names of people we believe can give support that
may be needed. We wish to share these names with you in the hope that
we can work together as parents, teachers and other professionals to get
the assistance needed.
- Dr.
Carol Marusich
- 541-342-3100. Dr. Marusich works in Eugene in the field of Vision
and Perception Therapy. There are many vision problems that can interfere
with a childs ability to learn. These challenges are not often
detected by the screening that takes place with an eye chart. Dr. Marusich
can diagnose these vision problems.
- Ilse
Kolbuzowski
- 541-345-3477. Ms. Kolbuzowski works in Eugene as a Curative Eurythmist.
She has also provided services to many of our children in the past.
After a teachers recommendation and an observation by Ilse, a
child may be recommended for special eurythmy with her. Parents will
learn a movement routine to work with their child. Other
arrangements may be made with the class teacher.
-
- Drs. John and Joan Tacaks
- 503-234-1531. The Tacaks are both D.O.s and both have added Anthroposophical
medicine to their work. They live and work in Portland and have visited
and treated children in our community. Many Waldorf schools have a consulting
Anthroposophical doctor or nurse and we are lucky enough to have these
two nearby.
- Title I and IV
- We have received materials and financial support from the local public
school district the last 2 years. We hope to be able to continue this
and will need parent support to connect with the school district. Please
speak to your Class Teacher, Faculty Chair or the Administrative Coordinator
if you can help.
- HANDLE Institute
- 206-860-2665. A Holistic Approach to NeuroDevelopment and Learning
Efficiency (HANDLE) Institute provides effective diagnosis and treatment
for neurodevelopmental disorders. The Institute offers clinical services,
community information and professional training programs. Certified
HANDLE practitioners are available to work with families at the Institute
in Seattle and at other locations in Washington and across the country.
- Theresa Orange
- 541-431-4538. Theresa is a trained Waldorf teacher. She has focused
on Remedial Education and has set up a practice in Eugene. She is available
for consultation and will make recommendations after an initial session
with a child.
