The CWS has had a tradition of making home made ice cream for an ice cream social on the last day of school. It started out as a kindergarten gift to the school and has transformed into the upcoming-first graders and their mentors-to-be (8th graders), meeting and working together.
Those families that are interested, we will be picking strawberries on Monday June 14th. Anyone interested could clean and prepare the strawberries on TUESDAY, June 15 or on WEDNESDAY, June 16. WEDNESDAY we will meet at the school and make the ice cream, let it cure and then serve it after the assembly on THURSDAY , JUNE 14th. I do work 12 hours on TUESDAY so if we can get strawberry cleaners together, we will need an organizer. Otherwise I will be there all day WEDNESDAY and THURSDAY and families can join us after school. I will see when the to-be 8th graders can help with the to-be 1st graders.

We have attained the minimum number needed to run the Early Childhood and Lower Grades Summer programs (The middle school programs have been cancelled due to lack of enrollment). There are still spaces available for these two programs so if you are interested please pick up a registration form from the office on download from the website.
Dear Friends, if your child is re-enrolled for the 2010-2011 school year, you are welcome to check out books from Rainbow Library over the summer. From now until the end of the school year you may choose to return books by the last day, June 17, or by September 18. If your child is not returning to CWS please be sure all library books are returned by June 17. Come check out all the great books at Rainbow Library!
Are you planning on attending the DaVinci Days festival this summer (July 16-18)? CWS is looking for volunteers to staff our school's booth in the Children's Village. If you love sunshine and bubbles, this just might be the volunteer opportunity you've been waiting for!! All volunteers will be given a free day pass for the day of their service, and for an additional $5.00, you can upgrade your day pass to a full weekend pass. Don't let the bubbles pass you by! The sign-up sheet is in the hallway by the mailboxes, and if you want to upgrade your day pass to a weekend pass, there is an envelope in the front office to deposit your $5.00.Contact Blain Willard if you have questions- (541)738-0741 or blainwillard @hotmail.com.
Our lost and found box is now overflowing! Items will be placed near the main entrance of the school for parents to claim their children’s belongings. Any items remaining after Tuesday will be made available to anyone who wants them. Final items remaining after Thursday (the last day of school) will be taken to Goodwill.
Do you have photos of the various CWS events or classroom activities? If so, the school would love to have copies. If you are willing to share some of your digital photos with us that we can use in various publications, such as newsletters, advertisements and/or website, we would be very thankful. Summer Handwork
I would like to make myself available during much of the summer to students who like to have handwork projects at home, and would like some kind of support. I can provide suggestions on projects, materials, and sources, share patterns, and help with problems if they arise. This is an extended service of the handwork program, with the intent of supporting the children's desire to make beautiful things with their hands, and is free of charge.
