 Middle School Program 

   Creative Writing Program

A four-week summer writing program for children entering 6th-8th grade.  Students will experience a unique curriculum designed to develop and support students imaginative writing across literary genres. This program encourages students to challenge themselves technically and artistically through guided daily writing workshops, one-on-one instructor evaluations, group editing sessions, and creative presentations of their work. This program has curricular emphasis in expressive writing as a process. Students will discover and refine their own voice. In addition they will read classic and contemporary examples of the genre, craft and hone their writing composition, and prepare to present their piece to an audience of readers and listeners.

A hearty snack is required. Please bring a notebook, pen or pencil.

Monday - Friday 10:00-12:30   

Fundamentals of Archery, Javelin, Discus and Fencing

This is a four-week program offering students the oportunity to learn archery, javelin, discus and fencing with staves for beginners.  Through introductory group lessons, students will learn the fundamental concepts, as well as the mythological and cultural heritage of these ancient sports while practicing in a safe environment.  Each class will end with cooperative games. Both boys and girls are encouraged to enroll.

Closed toe shoes, water bottle and hearty snack are required.

Monday- Friday 1-3pm  

 

All workshops are $250  each or $700 for both. Please bring a sack lunch if you are attending both workshops.
