Teaching positions

The Corvallis Waldorf School is seeking dynamic individuals to teach
Grades emphasizing the Whole Child Curriculum, based on Waldorf methods. Experience in teaching elementary and middle school-age children is required. Knowledge of curriculum development is important. The successful candidate will have: Good rapport with students, excellent classroom management skills, excellent communication skills, ability to work independently, enthusiasm for language and culture, and be open to suggestions and new ideas.


Desirable Qualities:

  • Prior teaching experience
  • Experience with Waldorf education
  • Program development experience

The Corvallis Waldorf School was founded in 1993 and currently has 120 children enrolled in Pre-School, Kindergarten through Grade 8.  We are a developing member school of AWSNA.  Our school has nine full-time faculty members.  We also offer an after-school care program.

Corvallis is located in the Willamette Valley, between the Coast Range and The Cascade Mountains, in close proximity to rivers, mountains, farmland and the rugged Oregon Coast. Corvallis supports a lively music and arts community, a great food co-op, and is home to Oregon State University.

Additional Movement teacher description

We are looking for an energetic Games teacher to teach the elementary grades (4-7) games two times per week. Candidates with Spatial Dynamics training are preferred and all candidates should have a have a strong familiarity with the Waldorf method. We are eager to meet candidates who possess strong communication skills, flexibility, commitment, creativity, and knowledge of child development.
 

Start Date: Fall 2008, after Labor Day

Compensation: Depends on experience, availability.  Includes medical/dental package, tuition remission and living in the great green Willamette valley.

After School Care Director

Corvallis Waldorf School in Corvallis, Oregon seeks an After School Care director. This is a half-time position, for school year 2008-2009. We are looking for an individual who possesses the ability to implement Waldorf principals in a harmonious environment and to oversee the After School Care program.
This is a salaried position with 25 hours a week. The program hours are Monday through Friday 12:30-5:30.
The Director position requires billing for participating families as well as coordinating staff hours. Each day the director will interact with the children, maintain the After School Care rooms, follow the daily rhythm and fulfill administrative duties.
The candidate must be CPR-First Aid certified and have 30 credit hours in early childhood development or the minimum of 1 year experience working with children.

Administrator

The administrator is the leader of an administrative team which includes facilities manager, office manager, financial and reception positions. The administrator facilitates communication and interaction between the bodies of the school including administrative staff, parents, students and members of the Board, and Faculty.

A bachelor’s degree and administrative experience, or the equivalent, are required. Position includes a base salary, increments for experience and certification, medical coverage, and tuition remission.
