Fund Raising
|
 |
 |
Fund raising is a part of life in private schools. And it is not different
at CWS. The income we receive from tuition payments is not enough to cover
staff salaries and operational expenses. In other words, if the school
expected to fund all of its expenses with tuition income alone, we would
have to raise tuitions to a higher level than that which we are currently
charging. When the board sets the tuition level every January for the
following school year, it tries to find a happy medium between what the
school needs to be able to operate, and what the majority of our families
can afford to pay. The difference has to come from some creative ways
such as fund raising.
The Fund Raising Committee has been very active this Fall as you have
probably noticed. These are the kind of things that you may normally buy
from other places. Not junk but good quality items. So why not buy these
things from the school and help the school in the process!
- Auction
- Goods and services were auctioned off April 11 at the First Congregational
Church. Last year's auction raised
over $10.000. The evening was full
of fun and delicious food. Thank you CWS Fundraising Committee and all
the participants! This year's auction will be held
on April 22.
- Benefit Concert
- Rainbow Dance Theatre's directors Valerie Bergman and Darryl Thomas,
both parents of a Waldorf child, provided a benefit concert in
September.
- Wreath sales
- We met our goal again this year and will have that pizza party! Thank
you to all who participated.
-
- Pizza sales
- Available on Thursdays at lunch time.
- Scrip
- A versatile program that can serve the needs of most of our families.
Participating businesses donate a percentage of each purchase to the
school at no cost to you.
